The short version

Maqam does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app works entirely offline. Microphone audio is processed on your device and is never recorded, saved, or sent anywhere.

What we access

• Microphone: required for pitch detection. The audio stream is analyzed using on-device FFT (Apple's Accelerate framework) and discarded in real time. No audio is ever recorded or transmitted.
• Local storage (UserDefaults): we store your last selected instrument and preferences (A4 reference, theme, debug toggle) on your device only. Nothing leaves your phone.

What we don't do

• No analytics, no tracking, no advertising SDKs.
• No accounts, no sign-up, no cloud sync.
• No third-party services. No internet connection is required for the tuner or metronome to function.

In-App Purchases

Maqam Pro (monthly $1.99 or lifetime $29) is processed by Apple's StoreKit. Apple receives the transaction; we do not. Restoring purchases on a new device uses Apple's standard receipt verification.

Promo codes are validated locally on your device against a static list baked into the app. We do not record code redemptions on any server.

Children

Maqam is rated 4+. It does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. It is COPPA-compliant by design.

Changes to this policy

If anything ever changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will reflect the new version. We will not silently start collecting data.
